Mick ST. John Private Investigations 

Mick St. John is a Private Investigator and a reluctant member of the vampire society. He was turned on his wedding night by his ex-wife, Coraline, an ancient vampire from the French Revolution, later revealed to be a gigantic Vampire Hunt . He refers to himself and other vamps as “monsters”, even though he is “vegetarian” vamp and only drinks the blood of people dead in the morgue. His food is supplied by Guillermo, a vamp that works as an assistant at the city morgue. Guillermo also helps Mick in his cases, getting him inside the morgue to see and smell the victims of the crimes he investigates. Mick’s investigating partner and love interest is Beth Turner a reporter for the news show Buzzwire, and his best friend and confidant is Joseph Kostan, a beyond rich and ancient vampire who thoroughly believes in the widely held “being a vamp rocks” belief. He does not understand Mick’s hatred of what he is, even though he tries.

 
Mick is a private investigator. He does this to make up for what he is, in a way. He is an excellent P.I. , thanks to his vampire super-senses. His sense of smell is the most heightened. He can smell far better than any human can, because of a vamp’s need to drink blood. Vamps are able to identify people not only by face and body type, but by the smell of their blood, which is as distinctive to each person as a fingerprint. Vamps only need to smell a person’s blood once to remember it, as well as identifying any foreign chemicals poisons, drugs, or the like in a person’s blood. A person’s blood even leave traces of the smell on another person without their blood actually making contact with another person’s skin. A vampire’s hearing is also strengthened. Mick is able to listen to an argument occurring inside a house from outside the house and across the street. His sight is enhanced, but it isn’t as noticeable as the hearing or smelling. His eyes change when he goes into “vamp-mode” from their usual hazel to icy blue. This could show an even further heightening, but who knows? Mick’s strength and speed are also highly increased. His “sexy vampire jump”, as quoted by Beth, and his high speed running, are only small showings.

Powers, if any: Mick, like other vampires, has a few enhanced attributes. He is stronger and faster than the average mortal man, able to hold his own in physical combat. He can jump great heights. Another vampire attribute he exhibits is the heightened sense of smell. He can tell a lot about a person (gender, health etc) just by smelling a sample of their blood.
Likes: Jazz music, that good feeling that comes with helping people, being around his friends, solving a good mystery, privacy, his car (Mercedes), the abilities that come with being a vampire, an interesting book, memories of the pleasant times he had as a mortal, intelligent women with a bit of attitude
Dislikes: Vampire stereotypes, being a ‘monster’, Freshies in general, people who lack a conscience, other more cavalier vampires (with his friend Josef as an obvious exception to the rule), thinking about his early days as a vampire, morally deficient people, complicated emotions, killing or even feeding off of innocent people, getting tied down emotionally
Fears: 1. He is afraid that he will physically harm someone he cares about because of what he is. 2. There are a couple people, mortal and immortal, that he cares about enough to fear for their well-being. 3. He is afraid that he will lose the part of him that is moral and good and become even more of a monster.
Strengths: Above all, Mick has a good heart. He is not like some other vampires who have no regard for mortals’ lives. Mick has strong morals that he has exhibited in many situations, like refusing to drink from his friend Josef’s vast array of Freshies. He often puts others before him - People like Beth Turner, for example. Mick has strong intuition which really helps out in his work as a PI. In spite of the things he has gained by becoming a vampire, Mick remains somewhat humble and has not developed a god complex.
Weaknesses First and foremost his weakness is Mina. Anyone wanting to see his "Dark side" only has to hurt her once and you will see it.  Mick has trouble with expressing himself. He often keeps the emotional, profound stuff locked away in his brain. He is full of guilt simply because of the creature he is. While some of it is out of necessity, Mick doesn’t like to get tied down and shows it to a fault. He obsesses over the past, particularly his time spent with his wife Coraline. He is emotionally cautious to a degree that could be considered a weakness.

Personality: When Mick was a mortal man he was an easy-going but ambitious man. He flourished in World War Two as a medic with his pleasant nature, making friends in his rank with ease. He did make a moral mistake or two, most notably being the time that he slept with his buddy Ray’s wife Lilah. It could be said that Mick had a weakness for women, one being Lilah and the other Coraline. He’s the kind of guy who might fall head first into love without really knowing what he is doing.

As far as friendships go, Mick’s friendships last forever in a very literal sense. He’s been known to drop in on old acquaintances to make sure that they are doing alright - The biggest and most obvious example of this is Beth Turner who he sees almost like a family member, the little girl Mick saved from being turned by Coraline. He also sticks by his best friend Josef no matter how morally different he is from him. His closest and most meaningful is with Mina. It can be said that only she knows the true Mick St.John

Mick likes to keep a cool exterior and can usually pass himself off as aloof and balanced, but really he is emotionally and often passionate about his detective work and the people who cross his path.
